Note: We will be hosting two play readings of Not Equal To at our studio in Belmont:
Sunday, August 13, 10 am to 1 pm
Saturday, August 19, 10 am to 1 pm
If you'd like to be part of the cast or if you're interested in joining the production team, this is a great opportunity to get familiar with the play ahead of auditions . Others are welcome too. Space is limited and an RSVP to sindu@bayareadrama.company is required to attend. ROLES AVAILABLE

All roles in this production require South Asian actors preferably with Indian accents.

Female Roles:

  • Anna - 20s-early 30s. Outspoken. Fearless. Determined
  • Chitra - early 40s-early 50s. Senior Tech Executive. Capable. Focused. Committed. Loyal.
  • Priya - 20s-40s. News anchor. Strong. Informed. Incisive in her questioning.
  • Vani - 20s-30s. News reporter. Friendly. Inexperienced.

Male Roles:

  • Rao - Late 40s-60s. CEO of a Bangalore based outsourcing company. Commanding presence. Used to wielding his authority. 
  • Murali - 40s-50s. Rao's right hand man. Loyal. Dependable. Willing to do whatever Rao asks of him.
  • Neel - 20s to early 30s. Rao's son. Eager to make his own mark and step out of the shadow of his father.
  • Rahul - 30s to early 40s. VP in Rao's company. Rising star.

INSTRUCTIONS

Please click here to fill out the audition form. You will receive a confirmation email with a specific time-slot. Prepare a 2 minute dramatic monologue which shows a range of emotions and includes movement.

If shortlisted, you will be provided with sides from the play and called back the same afternoon.

Rehearsals begin Sunday, August 27, 2017. All rehearsals will be held at our studio in Belmont

Technical rehearsals (mandatory and non-negotiable dates) will be held 5 pm – 11 pm on November 30 and December 1 at Sunnyvale Theatre. If you are planning a vacation over the Thanksgiving weekend, we will not be able to consider you for a role.
