Auditions for

PAGLA GHODA

We invite you to audition for Pagla Ghoda. The director of the play is Ranjita Chakravarty.

The play will be staged with separate shows in English and Bengali. Read more about the play here.

Key Information

  • Performance Dates – Dec 4-13, 2026, Pear Theatre, Mountain View

  • Auditions for the English cast – Aug 22 (Monologues) and Aug 23 (Callbacks) at BADCo’s studio in Santa Clara. For auditions for the Bengali cast we will follow a modified process. Please read below.

  • Run-throughs and Tech – Nov 7 to Dec 3.

  • Rehearsals will begin in September and will be held at BADCo’s studio in Santa Clara. We typically rehearse on two weekday evenings and two weekend days.

  • The play is being double cast. To be considered for a role in this play you should have good availability from September onwards. You must be available during the full run-through, tech, and performance dates above.

Auditions for the English Cast

Monologue Auditions

Monologue Auditions for the English cast will be held on Aug 22, 9am to 12pm at BADCo’s rehearsal studio in Santa Clara. Each auditionee will sign up for an individual slot. The signup form will be sent to you after you fill out the Audition Form at the bottom of the page. Select a one minute dramatic monologue in English. Please come prepared to deliver your monologue from memory.

If you have been in the cast of a recent BADCo production, you may skip the Monologue Auditions and come straight to Callbacks.

Callbacks

Callbacks for the English cast will be held on Aug 23, from 9am to 10:30am, at the BADCo studio.

For Callbacks you will receive sides from the script on Aug 22.  If you have been in the cast of a recent BADCo production, you may skip the Monologue Auditions and come straight to Callbacks. Even if you are coming straight to Callbacks, you must fill out the Audition Form below. If you are not available for Auditions on Aug 22 or 23, please let us know. At the discretion of the director, we may schedule a separate audition for you or have you submit a self-tape.

Auditions for the Bengali Cast

A special welcome to fellow Bengali actors! This is the first time we are doing a show in Bengali and we want it to be a show we can be proud of.

We will follow a By Appointment Audition process for the Bengali cast. Once you submit the Audition Form (link below) we will get in touch with you to schedule an audition. At this audition you will read from sides with one or more other actors. The sides (pages from the script for Pagla Ghoda) will be sent to you prior to the audition.

Roles

The age ranges below are for guidance only. If you can credibly play the role, we will consider you.

For each cast, here are the roles we are looking for:

  • 1 female character, 20s

  • 4 male characters, 30s to 60s
