Artistic Director’s Note for the Program

An important role of a theatre company is to nurture and grow talent. With actors, that happens almost naturally — the stage is always calling, and there’s never a shortage of performers eager to answer. But with directors, the path is less straightforward. Few step forward to take on the challenge, and unlike actors, there are no auditions for directors. Both director and company just have to take the plunge.

In Shorts Circuit, six new directors have done just that, bringing to life six short plays. It has taken an immense amount of work, creativity, and heart to shape this production, and I am thrilled with what they have achieved. I am sure you will like it too.
