June is gay pride month. Fittingly, the play reading this month in our Low Res on Zoom series is Seven Steps Around the Fire. The play was written by Mahesh Dattani for BBC 4 and was first broadcast on January 9, 1999.
Synopsis:
Following the brutal murder of the hijra Kamla, Uma Rao, the wife of Bangalore’s Superintendent of Police decides to probe things further. Uma's investigation leads her into the mysterious world of the hijra community (eunuchs and transgenders), where shocking truths and labyrinthine conspiracies lie waiting to unfold.

The reading will take place on Saturday, June 20th at 8:00 PM online via Zoom video conferencing. The duration is 60 minutes plus Q&A. You must register to attend. All you need to watch is a computer or a phone and the free Zoom app. The number of participants is limited so register as soon as you can.
