Sunnyvale Theatre and Lohman Theatre
BHOPAL is an intense, poignant play that brings to life the human stories within the complex political and economic milieu that created the worst industrial disaster the world has ever known. An explosion at the Union Carbide factory in Bhopal, India in December 1984 spewed poisonous Methyl Isocyanate that took an estimated 25,000 lives and left hundreds of thousands debilitated. The playwright weaves a fictional plot around the events leading upto and after the gas leak to create a powerful, moving piece.
BHOPAL was staged at the Sunnyvale Theatre on Dec. 3, 2014, the 30th anniversary of the tragedy. There were three additional shows at Lohman Theatre, Foothill College over Dec. 13-14.
This was BAD Company's first production. You can learn more about it, including a listing of the full cast and crew, by visiting the archived page for the play. Blog posts for BHOPAL can be found here.
